Hi everybody,
This is my first update from York! I’ll tell you people something about the first days over here.
Day one, Sunday, January 26th:
Sunday morning, it was around half past five, my parents brought me to Schiphol Airport. My boyfriend and his parents came as well te say goodbye. I had to catch my plane, together with my friend Daphne, to Leeds-Bradford Airport. This was the first time in my life that I would fly, so I was a little bit nervous. But there was nothing to worry about, the flight went well en we landed right on time at the airport.
From the airport we went to the busses. We took the bus to Leeds Central railway station, from where we took the train to York railway station. We caught a taxi to get to our host families. Daphne’s host family and mine are in the same neighborhood, so we could take the same taxi.
Day two, Monday, January 27th:
The first day of school went very well. We did a facial massage, which is totally different than what i’m used to, but it’s like ours very relaxing. After the massage we did body electrical. There are a lot of different types electrical machines. They did electrical hair removal, but I went to the other class because they needed somebody so they could do a facial exercise. The facial is, like the massage, also very different compared to what I’m used to. Over here they work with Dermalogica and sometimes with Envrion, these are both great brands.
Day three, Tuesday, January 28th:
We started the day with manicures. It was very nice to do, but again, very different. After this we had a facial massage, this was really great! After school I went back to my host family, I had diner and after that I did go jogging with Daphne.
Day four, Wednesday, Januari 29th:
As real Dutch girls we took the bicycle to go to York College. In the first place, it was very strange to drive on the left side of the road. You can imagine that this was a true adventure! Fortunately we arrived safely. At our class we had a full-body massage, it was very relaxing! After this we ate at Tesco’s. This is a big supermarket.
After Lunch we had body electrical with microdermabrasion. It was very cool to see and feel how it works!
Tomorrow we’ll go shopping after school, i’m very curious how the shops are in York.
The people over here are very kind and helpful. Both at school and at my host family.

Ha die Larissa, leuk reisverslag! fijn dat alles goed is gegaan , en dat je n fijn gastgezin hebt, en school is ook leuk als ik het goed begrijp? nou doe maar veel ervaring op dan kun je mij dat mooi leren(haha) tot horens groetjes Ria. -

Mooi om te lezen alhoewel in het engels het toch wat lastiger is haha wat je er zoal doet.
